Intermittent slowness for US Hosted Koha services Friday 19th January 2024 17:04:00

We are investigating an issue with intermittent slowness in our US hosted environments. This slowness seems to be originating from our upstream provider, and we have engaged their assistance and are working on their timeline. Thanks for your patience while we continue to investigate this performance issue.

Late on January 25 a network misconfiguration in the upstream infrastructure was identified that was likely causing this morning slowness. We have been monitoring this today and the event we had identified that had been occurring in the mornings did not occur. There were no reports of slowness today during the time bound hour of ~09:30 and 11:00 Central time.

Please do continue to report slowness to us if you encounter it. We are going to leave this incident open for the next few days to monitor, but we do believe that the root issue has been resolved at this time.

We are making progress working with our upstream provider and eliminating potential root causes for the ongoing periodic slowness, which appears to occur during limited intervals in the morning. Thank you for your continued patience as we continue our investigation.

We believe we have identified at least one potential cause of this slowness and remediated it. Your continued reports and timeframes are very valuable, thank you for providing them. This was not (and was not ever suspected to be) a security incident, but a misconfiguration that happened concurrently with, but not because of, major Koha upgrades.

Our upstream provider is still investigating this performance issue, and it has been escalated to the necessary departments within that organization. We will continue to monitor, thank you for your reports.
